Baby Emma

Baby Emma

Today is my first blog post. (This is Nate) I am happy to say that on Tuesday July 23rd, 2008 @ 1:43 PM, Emma Jean Jacobsen was born. Ashley was scheduled to be induced that morning so we put everything in the car and headed up to Alta View Hospital in Sandy. On the freeway up to the hospital Ashley started having contractions.

When we arrived to the hospital, Ashley was dilated and in labor. The baby was coming on her own terms! This was very exciting. The delivery was smooth with no complications. Emma has a lot of hair and is peaceful... so far. She is so fun and has already brought so much joy into our lives. We feel so blessed to have her here with us!

Ashley did such a wonderful job with everything. She is the most amazing mother and wife. I am very grateful that I have such a tough wife. She has not complained one single time. I know that she is secretly thinking... " What can I do next? Does everyone have what they need? Am I giving 100%? " Ashley, we love you. We are grateful for all that you do for us. You are an amazing mother. The dedication that you put into the happiness of our little family is heads and shoulders above what is expected of you. You always go the extra mile and we are grateful for that. You are great!

Taylor was fascinated by a real life baby. She seemed to be a little unsure of the new baby at first. This was her first introduction to baby Emma.

After getting familiar with the baby, she wanted to hold her. After that, Taylor began to become protective of her new sister. When the nieces and nephews held the baby, Taylor was a little upset and wanted to keep the baby all to her self. It was cool to see the two of them interact so well together. Hopefully this will be a sign of things to come.

I was able to give Emma her first bath. She loved getting all of her dark black hair washed. She has so much beautiful hair.
